Shock upset: rock beats paper
"Children Of The Stones" is a creepy 1976 series aimed at younger viewers that we'd now define as folk horror-scifi. It's deeply compelling and unsettling both. If you haven't seen it, check YooToob - pretty sure that's where I watched it maybe a decade ago. (If it was shown here on ABC in my youth, I woulda been out riding my bike.)
Yesterday, I stumbled onto the 2020 adaptation done by the BBC as a podcast. That's kind of interesting in itself since the original was broadcast by ITV. Anyhoo, while it could never hope to recapture the frankly inappropriate scariness of the '70s telly program, the 10 short episodes do pack a decent punch. I was fine with the modernisation, too.
Would you have the stones to chat to this chick? ("Tank Girl" by Daniela Uhlig.)
