Recent musing

I might quit Twitter. It used to be an up-to-the-minute source for geek news. Not so much now. And several of my pals have left the platform. I won't ditch Instagram, though. I like having a heap of my favourite food pics in one place. Facebook I would happily stop using, except it's the only social media a lot of friends/relos bother with, and hence that'd mean losing touch with them to a degree. I resisted joining Facey for MANY years, and missed a few events - including the alleged best senior-high reunion - as a result.

There's more stuff I could be blogging about here. There are definitely more things I've read recently that I should've posted on my book Tumblr. The problem is finding the motivation. Life for me is busier since Dad's passing, helping to look after Mum and the big family home/big yard, while also still doing p-t work to pay the bills, and keeping up with my exercise goals and various nerdy hobbies. A choice between writing about a day trip or engaging in, say, a relaxing movie binge is barely a choice at all :-)

Playing: "Peglin" [Steam].
Listening on my walks: The Big Finish audios featuring the Fourth Doctor, Harry Sullivan and Naomi Cross ("Storm Of The Sea Devils", "Metamorphosis", "Dominant Species").
Lunchtime viewing: "Treasures" S1&2 with Bettany Hughes, "Caesar's Doomsday War", "Wheeler Dealers World Tour".
Gambling: Horses - 7/9 collects over the past three Saturdays.

Anyhoo, on to the latest seven-word fillum reviews...

* "Chief Of Station" (2024) [Netflix]: Reasonable spyjinx, if you're in the mood.
* "Force Of Nature - The Dry 2" (2024) [Prime]: Bushland disappearances/corporate conspiracy. Aussie-faves cast.
* "Gettysburg" (2011) [Kanopy]: Ridley and Tony Scott docofilm. Savage insights.
* "My Mom's A Werewolf" (1989) [YouTube]: Feels like 1979. Minimal horror or comedy.
* "Roar - The Story Of The Southern Columbia Football Tigers" (2024) [Kanopy]: Champions battle declining population, key injuries, expectation.
* "The Conference" (2022) [Kanopy]: To adapt Arendt - the beaurocracy of evil.
* "The Lie" (2023) [Netflix]: Kiwi crime. Chilling footage. That poor girl.

<<< Pick of the bunch is any of the docos. >>>
