There are lotsa variations on "the cat's whiskers/ pyjamas". I've always liked "the frog's clogs". Heard someone say "the dingo's danglers". That's my new #2.

Heard someone else refer to "scarcity aplenty", which I found perversely appealing.

Apparently there's now a sub-subgenre of novel known as "art monster". Broadly speaking, about an artist for whom no-one and nothing matters save their work.

Lastly, I'm told we officially live in a "screen culture". Hateful but true. It's the children for whom I feel most sorry. They craft pixels, we built treehouses!
