The horses I'm wishing for

As I approach a decade of doing essentially the same repetitive task, ie. subediting, the desire for life-change is strong. A trio of theoretically feasible options present themselves:

1. Enter the public service and, ideally, transfer to Canberra.
2. Teach ESL locally or in Japan or Korea. (Age may be a prohibitive factor here.)
3. Begin a law degree at UTS, studying part-time in the evenings.

While the third scenario requires me to remain in my current role, the added mental stimulus would hopefully balance out the 9-to-5 ennui. If I could stay the seven-year course, I'd be an old man...but an old man with a career alternative!
