Here's the deal
You can magically travel to any music gig since 1950.
You're only there for the duration, so don't get too hung up on the holiday aspect.
It can't be a whole festival, but a specific set is OK.
Which performer(s) would you see?
My occasional coworker AG couldn't decide between being present for Elvis Presley's stunning '68 comeback or catching mod legends The Jam before they split forever in '82.
I'm also torn... I reckon either the clowning, crooning and impossible cool of the "Rat Pack" (Davis, Martin, Sinatra) at The Sands in the early 1960s or the unconstrained artistry of Kate Bush's 1979 Tour Of Life, which sounds like every type of stage show combined.
So I guess that means everyone gets a Plan B.
Well, whaddaya waiting for?
Slice of nice
Lots of Sydders eateries have blackboards on which they chalk classic quotes or funny messages for the amusement of passers-by. I see so many that they don't tend to elicit much of a response. At lunchtime on Thursday, howevs, I saw a pair of good'uns.
1. Skinny people are easier to kidnap. Stay safe and eat cake.

Pink gold
"The Static Speaks My Name" downloads on Steam (for nada) in about 10 seconds.
You can explore its confines and achieve its simple objectives in around 10 minutes.
But I bet you'll still be disturbed by it in 10 hours.
Maybe even 10 days.

Freyja roaming
Not shown: two rainbow lorikeets opening and feasting on a sachet of sugar pinched from a cafe table.
Knuckle plus dunkel at you know where. Hello, meat sweats!
The 19th-century concept of giving rejected works a second chance is alive and well on Observatory Hill.
Cometh the hour, cometh the double album.
That's Mum's pressie sorted.
LEGO Pompeii by Ryan "The Brickman" McNaught at Sydney Uni's Nicholson Museum.
Scenes through the ages include Pink Floyd recording their 1972 concert film.
A metaphor for the increasingly elusive dream of home ownership? Then what about the arrow?

Thor feet
Lovecraft would have approved of this architectural oddity located in the UTS grounds.
Her resting is arresting.
DG and I chatted with artist MC back when he was less feted but no less talented.
It was time to inspect the progress of the 22-hectare, $6 billion Barangaroo precinct.
Not shown: crying woman striking chest of emotionless-as-a-toad man on mobile phone.
B. will have quiet areas.
Large, varied, interesting, FREE travelling exhibition now upstairs at the State Library.
Thumbs up for Lotus' shiitake mushroom dumplings (with my first beer in nearly a fortnight).
