Last five movies watched

"Ready Player One" was a rewatch.

Pick of the bunch: "Mulan" is the full Disney experience - drama, action and adventure, comic relief, romance, more action and adventure, moral lesson, happy ending.

[Viewed on: Disney+, Netflix, Netflix, Stan, Stan.]

Last five movies watched

"Batman: M/O/T/P" was a rewatch.

Pick of the bunch: "American Animals" (2018) is an extraordinary true-crime heist film which intersperses dramatic recreation with comments from the real people involved/affected. It artfully reflects the crims' differing accounts of events, and connects the four men with their younger selves as depicted in surprising ways. Director Bart Layton also made 2012's equally fascinating "The Imposter". Based on this and that, I'll watch anything he does.

[Viewed on: SBS On Demand, Netflix, Prime (which I no longer have), Netflix, Stan (I'm doing a month's free trial).]

Last five movies watched

"G/I/T/S 2.0 Redux" was a rewatch.

Pick Of The Bunch: "Ocean To Sky", focusing on one of Sir Edmund Hillary's other expeditions - travelling up the Ganges by jet boat - is a marvellous documentary about bravery, loyalty and universality.

[Viewed on: Netflix, DVD, Disney+, Prime, Prime.]

Pick of the bunch: "Local Hero" by a country mile.

[Viewed on: DVD, DVD, Foxtel (free rental), Netflix, Disney+.]

I feel I should point out that while I've been getting through a fair number of films lately, I break 'em into 2-3 parts as ongoing health issues prevent me sitting too long. Also, I haven't been consuming much telly, apart from a few quiz shows and some live sport. I'm not a couch potato, honest! :-)

New-year rezzies

1. Drink more tea.

2. Spend less money.

3. Write a book.

Last five movies watched

"Alien^3" was a rewatch. Decent in most departments, but the VFX really let it down. They shoulda ended the franchise there.

Pick of the bunch: "Garnet's Gold". Wonderful doco about a genuine English eccentric and his quest to turn a missed opportunity from the past into his greatest triumph.

[Viewed on: MS Store, Prime, Prime, Prime, DVD.]
